Forster Digital Photography Club (FDPC) is based in Forster, New South Wales, Australia. Our membership covers a very wide age range and caters for all levels of skill , from beginners to experts.

The mission of the Forster Digital Photography Club is to encourage and support the creative art of digital photography for its members in a friendly environment. FDPC is a web-supported, photography club where members enjoy interactive forums, display images, hold regular competitions, invite guest speakers, hold field visits, share ideas and develop skills.

Our club holds monthly competitions and meetings designed to improve photographic skills. All competitions are digital based and in general we do not hold print competitions or events. Members require Internet access to submit their competition photographs electronically and also an email account to receive club information.

FDPC meets monthly at 7:00pm in the Wallis Lake Room at Club Forster, Strand Street, Forster. Visitors are always welcome. Meetings are usually held on the third Wednesday of each month but this may vary on occasions. Please see our event calendar for details.

About our club

Our club holds monthly competitions and meetings designed to improve photographic skills. As our club is based on digital images, photographs can be captured with a digital camera or scanned from film or prints, but competition entries must be entered as a digital file. Members require Internet (web) access to submit their competition photographs electronically and also an email account to receive information from the committee and other members.

Our membership costs only $25.00 a year with a once-only joining fee of $9.00. Entries in the club competitions are just $1.00 per image plus $1 each month. If you are interested in joining our club you can contact us to obtain further information or you can attend one of our regular monthly meetings, as visitors are always welcome.

FDPC has two membership Grades A and B. Monthly results are accumulated for an annual competition and trophies. An Open and Set subject competitions are held each month. these are judged and critiqued by experienced and independent judges.

FCC Interclub comp

Albums are now open for entries in the FCC Interclub Competition. The subjects are : Open Colour, Open Mono, Nature, Creative and Australian Landscapes. You are able to enter 3 images in each category and they must be sized 1920 x 1200. File size may be 2mb. The albums will be closed 25th August and a selection panel will choose 10 from each category to represent the Club. Please remember that people, buildings etc. must not be a dominant feature in landscape images.

Australia Cup results

The results for Australia Cup were announced last night via Zoom presentation and our Club went really well. We came equal 20th place out of 67 clubs and scored 388 points. A huge congratulations to Helen Walker who received a Silver Medal for her image – ‘Morning has broken’. Well done Helen and well done and thank you to everyone who entered.
